Horndean Female Runners love #ThisGirlCan

We visited Tiffany Eanes who co-ordinates female only sessions in Running and Yoga as part of her Muscle Strength and Endurance Fitness programme. The "This Girl Can" campaign caught Tiffany's eye and she contacted Sport Hampshire & IOW to see how her ladies could get involved.

On a chilly Monday evening we visited Tiffany who was surrounded by a large group of women all braving the cold and enjoying being active together. They had all seen the advert on their TV screens and agreed that it is something that they can all relate to and feel motivated by.

Bev Tune loves the campaign and said "I think the advert uses women that are a true reflection of today's female society and the size that we really are, not air brushed models that damage our confidence." Tiffany co-ordinates running groups for all standards and is fully committed to helping women get active and have bundles of fun along the way.

Many women have suffered from the fear of judgement and the campaign looks to tackle this head on. Louisa Burnett explained "I used to feel embarrassed about running on my own. Now I am proud of being fit!" The women are really keen to help motivate more women to get active and Tiffany said "As I am the leader of the running group, I can only hope that the ladies come back every week because I make the sessions fun, non competitive and social, with everyone helping and supporting each other. If you want to know more about the groups that Tiffany co-ordinates click here. The ladies truly live all the values of "This Girl Can" and we had a great evening celebrating all these women being active!
